This Atlantic coast on the Gulf of Gascogne is spectacular, however the mountain towns in the Basque Country are colorful and charming. Wander through lovely villages, and walk over stone bridges, where the rivers are so clear you can see fish swimming! Try the Basque regional dishes for lunch. For example, the Sheep’s milk cheese is famous! Other Basque specialties include cured ham, and a hearty cake filled with cherry or cream.
