Although not so well known, the Lot River valley in the Occitania region of France is really spectacular.

The Private sightseeing excursion from Toulouse to Saint Cirq-LaPopie & Pech Merle cavern takes you to visit the Beautiful Lot Valley. This tour begins with a visit to the most wonderful cave; the enormous cavern of Pech Merle. This cavern is filled with wonderful things for you to discover. You’ll find amazing Stalactites and Stalagmites, as well as fantastic cave paintings. In addition you ‘ll see hand prints and other prehistoric relics. I have visited many of the prehistoric caverns in France; this one is by far my favorite.

After that we’ll visit Saint Cirq-LaPopie.

This is one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Its perched on a cliff overlooking the Lot river. In addition, the village sits along the famous Camino de Santiago de Compostella. (the Saint James Way)

The views from this marvelous village are always perfectly framed with the village’s architecture!

Enjoy wandering the cobble stone streets, there are lots of interesting stores selling local handicrafts.

You can even – for example, climb up to the castle ruins, where a short path down the cliffs takes you to the church.

One the drive back to Toulouse we’ll stop briefly in Cahors, to see the famous Pont Valentre medieval fortified bridge.
